Today is Friday, an exciting day in its own right (see: TGIF & payday) but also because of what it means to me and to some of you- namely, Creativity Exchange and WTF Radio. However, there is yet another reason for excitement today. The WTF crew will be meeting TheRacket and having him on the show. That, right there is reason enough for a whole day of excitement.

 

In an attempt to tamper down my jumbly tummy filled to the esophageal brim with coked up butterflies let's go about business as usual. Shall we?

 

TheRacket and I have been doing Creativity Exchange since Dec. 2005. This will be our 34th exchange. During that whole time we've heard each other's voice on our respective shows and in each other's writing. In this piece, TheRacket's voice comes through loud and clear with a playful and cynical dichotomy.

[to tell the truth]

i find it funny how you giggle when i catch you in a lie

the way you cover your mouth with your open palm
yet i can still see the edges of that smirk to either side of your hand

as if hiding the truth was a joke
as if you could keep the truth from me by wearing a mask of fingers on your lips
